OUR TOP PRIORITY - OUR GUESTS: COVID-19 update and cancellation policy

Sustainability

The Dixon has been awarded the Green Key International Award for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism operations and demonstrates our commitment to making greener choices. We have worked closely with mission : net zero who were instrumental in developing the environmental, sustainability and social impact initiatives throughout our hotel.

Green Key is an international eco-label for tourism facilities. Since 1994, Green Key has been a leading standard of excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. The Green Key programme is run internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education and is linked to the Sustainable Development Goals 2015-2030 addressed by the United Nations. In England it is managed by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy and provides a well-proven framework for an establishment to work with its environmental management on sustainability issues, including awareness raising.

We will continue to work towards significantly reducing our environmental impact and energy and water consumption, as well as improving the guest experience with our green initiatives.

Beehives

A Welcome to our Bees.

The Dixon has welcomed some new friends to the hotel. We are pleased to have our very own bee hive on our roof. The honey bees are hard at work making some delicious, sweet honey from the pollen and nectar collected from the wild flowers on our rooftop garden. And it’s not just the honey bees enjoying the garden at The Dixon, bumblebees are also enjoying the nectar rich wildflowers.

Guests can enjoy our locally produced honey in our food and beverage offerings and can even purchase a pot of honey to take home with them.

This initiative further demonstrates our commitment to the environment and sustainability.
